SAN ANTONIO - It is further proof that everything is bigger in Texas including Cowboys news and no team in sports is more scrutinized.

Jerry Jones' simple tweet on the Cowboy's Twitter account said Dak Prescott gave away the ball twice in the narrow loss.

"To the 49ers in a matchup, the Cowboys had a chance to win if they didn't generate self-inflicted wounds."

That tweet has 16 million views and has gone viral because people can't believe the Cowboy's own Twitter account would throw Dak under the bus.

But they are not. They just stated a fact, and for those of us who have covered the Cowboys; it's one of Jerry Jones.

Jones empowers his own media team to work as independent journalists, just like any newspaper in Dallas. When criticism is justified, so be it.

Dak's all-time career playoff record is now 2 -4. In seven years, Dak has exactly as many playoff wins as Brock Purdy, the rookie, the last man in the draft that he faced Sunday.

With the difference only a touchdown, Dak was (like Tony Romo for much of his career) the reason why the Dallas Cowboys lost.

Dak is a good quarterback and probably around the 10th best in the league. His stats are legit, but he doesn't have that clutch factor, that Tom Brady, Roger Staubach, Joe Montana, or Troy Aikman have in their DNA.

But the Dallas Cowboys are stuck! Two years ago, Jerry Jones overpaid him by a long shot with $165,000,000 and $66,000,000 upfront. This was a record signing bonus and 130 million guaranteed. It's that money that will cost the Dallas Cowboys now.

Now, a lot of key players and good players are free agents. Tony Pollard, Dalton Schultz, Donovan Wilson, Terence Steele, Anthony Brown, and soon the boys will need to pony up to pay Cee Dee Lamb and Micah Parsons.

Seven years is a big sample size which is big enough to know that it's not happening. The Dallas Cowboys will never win with Dak Prescott as their quarterback.

I know it, you know, it. I think even Jerry knows it now, but it's too late - that check has already been written and cashed.
